Step-by-step procedure

- 1Check that this is an SPF: it concerns an unsettled pay place or an exceeded paid time. Prohibited, dangerous or very embarrassing parking is a separate contravention.
- 2Read the notice: it indicates the amount, the issuing authority, the means of payment, the deadline and remedies. The amount of the SPF shall be fixed by the municipality.
- 3Pay in the 3 months following notification of the notice, using the means indicated on the notice. Online payment on parking.gouv.fr is possible when the notice provides. A possible reduction depends on the municipality and appears on the opinion.
- 4To challenge, send a mandatory pre-administrative remedy (RAPO) to the authority indicated on the notice within one month of its notification. Attach the notice and the relevant evidence. The RAPO does not suspend the payment period.
- 5If the RAPO is rejected or remains unanswered for one month, you may refer the paid parking to the Tribunal within the time limit specified by Public Service and the decision received.
- 6Without payment in the 3 months, the SPF is increased. Follow the contact details and due date on the payment warning.
- 7If the notice is for a prohibited place, sidewalk or other offence, follow the contravention procedure indicated on this notice: it is not a SPF.
