Paper care sheets: Now possible from the Ameli Account app

A new teleservice allows you to send your paper care sheets directly to your health insurance fund from the Ameli Account app on smartphone. It is useful in particular if you did not have your Vitale card at the time of the consultation or if your doctor does not do the teletransmission, but it is subject to strict conditions.

From news to action

Who is concerned

The service only works in two cases: the care sheet must relate to a consultation with a general practitioner or specialist outside a care structure (the hospital for example), and the amount indicated must not exceed € 100. Over a period of 30 days, you can send a maximum of 5 refund claims, for yourself and your beneficiaries, for example your children. A document that is not a physician-issued care sheet will be refused and must be mailed to the CPAM.

What to do

If you have a paper care sheet from a consulting firm, log in to your ameli account in the app, then open the section "My steps" and "Medical Care Sheet". File a net photo or PDF of the document, indicate the beneficiary, the physician's 9-digit number and the amount of the fee, and then confirm. If the photo is blurred or mislit, the app invites you to upload a new one: 4 attempts are allowed. If the application is accepted, it is unnecessary to send the sheet by mail: keep it for 27 months. Mailing to your CPAM remains possible if you prefer.

Background

Until now, the paper care sheets had to be mailed to the Primary Health Insurance Fund (CPAM), which delayed reimbursement. This new service is part of the continuous digitisation of Health Insurance, which has also made the Vitale card available on smartphone.

Why it's important

Reimbursement is only triggered once the care sheet is received by the caisse. To be able to photograph the document and send it from his phone avoids a postal shipment and accelerates the process. A deposit confirmation arrives directly in the mail of the ameli account, which makes it possible to verify that the application has been registered.

What Changes

A new teleservice is integrated into the "Ameli Account, Health Insurance" app on iPhone and Android: it allows you to file the photo or PDF of the care sheet, indicate the beneficiary, identify the doctor with his 9-digit number, enter the amount of the fee and validate the refund application.

Useful details

  • Health Insurance sends an acknowledgement of receipt to the mail of the ameli account confirming the successful filing of the application.
  • The exhibit can be a snapshot photo, an image of your gallery or a PDF file.
  • If the photographed document is not a medical care sheet issued by a physician, it is refused and must be sent by mail to CPAM.
  • The limit of 5 claims over 30 days applies to all insured persons and their beneficiaries, including children.
  • Paper care sheets transmitted via teleservice must be stored 27 months, without further shipping to CPAM.
