Background
The benchmark price is a reference published by the CRE to compare gas offers, not a single tariff applied automatically to all customers. The actual invoice depends on the contract, the supplier and the consumption.
Why it's important
To compare an invoice, look at the contract formula, the subscription share and the consumption, not just the benchmark price. In case of disagreement, first ask the supplier for an explanation and then enter the energy mediator.
What Changes
The benchmark price was EUR 172.05 TTC per MWh compared to EUR 162.89 in August.
Useful details
- This is a benchmark, not an identical mandatory tariff for all contracts.
- The supplier must inform and advise the customer on the proposed offer.
- Also compare meter readings and the consumption period, separately from the evolution of the benchmark.
