To be prepared in advance
Section actions

- Proof of domicile
- List of your mission interests (animation, environment, social)
Step-by-step procedure
Section actions
- 1Check eligibility: 16–25 years (up to 30 for extended missions in QPV and rural areas), residence in France ≥1 year, not already on civic contract (Civic Service, EPA).
- 2Find a mission : sur jeveuxaide.gouv.fr (Civic Service), le site ENGIE Jeunes, en Maison de Quartier, CCAS, association. Missions: school support, environment, culture, solidarity, memory.
- 3Contact the organization (approved structure), conduct an interview. The organization signs an agreement with you and appoints you a guardian (experienced employee).
- 4Sign the contract — it includes the duration (24–48 hours/week, 6–12 months), the benefit of 607 €/month (2025), social protection, civic and civic training (CFC — 2 minimum days).
- 5Allowance 607 €/month — not subject to tax or CSG/CRDS. Does not impact the CAF, the exchanges, the RSA. The organization takes care of transport and meals if necessary.
- 6Time: 24 hours/week (classical version) at 48 hours/week (full-time option). Not compatible with another full-time contract — to be discussed with the organization.
- 7Receive a certificate — proof of civic commitment for CV, naturalization, future employment. Many volunteers find employment after the mission (network, experience).
- 8For students: compatible with studies, usually on free time. Find out at the university — some offer credits for the mission.
Common mistakes
Section actions
- Consolidate CEC and Civic Service: the Civic Service — 6–12 months, 24 h/week, €-607; the CEC is similar but with a separate administrative procedure.
- Believing that the benefit is a wage: it is a non-taxable social assistance which does not then qualify for unemployment.
- Exceed 48 hours/week — offence; body can be sanctioned.
- Do not sign a convention — no social protection or tutoring.
- Lack of civic and civic training — compulsory for certification.
