Background
Assistance to "big wheelers" was created in May 2026 to cushion rising fuel prices associated with the Middle East conflict. The window was to close the September 30; it is extended until December 31 2026. A text must confirm the modalities of this renewal.
Why it's important
This allowance provides concrete financial support to those who have to use their car to go to work or in the professional setting, with a non-rechargeable thermal or hybrid vehicle. The doubling of the amount (the equivalent of 40 cents per litre compared to 20 cents previously) and the new salary ceilings increase the number of beneficiaries. The automatic payment to former beneficiaries avoids a new approach.
What Changes
The scheme is renewed for October-December 2026 and the amount increases from € 50 to € 100 for this period (about 40 cents/litre versus 20 cents/litre before). Starting in October 2026, the net salary ceilings are extended: €2,035 for a single person, €4,070 for a couple with a child, €6,100 for a couple with two children. The €100 will be automatically paid to the beneficiaries of the aid covering April to September 2026.
