Background

Institutionalized since 2022, the JNR culminates on 13 October 2026, the date of the UN International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction. In the face of climate change and population concentration, more and more territories are exposed to more frequent and intense events: floods, forest fires, storms, ground movements, earthquakes, industrial accidents, pollution. In Isère, more than a hundred actions have been labeled since 2023: theatre plays, crisis simulation exercises, exhibitions, open doors, formations of elected officials, interventions by experts in the school environment.

Why it's important

The label offers national visibility on the interactive map of actions, support and, where appropriate, financial support. It is a concrete opportunity for associations, schools, communities and citizens to finance actions that teach residents good behaviour before, during and after a crisis. The aim is to make every citizen an actor of his or her own security and that of others.

What Changes

The call for projects of the 5th edition is open: file until 10 December 2026, successful candidates before 10 September 2026, applications for financial support until 1 October 2026.

Useful details

  • Projects must meet at least one of the three objectives: to develop culture on natural and technological risks; to prepare people for a disaster; and to develop collective resilience to risks.
  • All forms of action are encouraged: school-based interventions, crisis management exercises, educational workshops, immersive games and animations, conferences, open doors, exhibitions, training in saving gestures, cultural or sporting events on the theme of risk.

  • Only labeled projects can benefit from financial support; the application procedures are transmitted in the confirmation e-mail.
  • Advantages of the label: referencing on the interactive map of actions, support and possible financial support, valorisation of the commitment for risk prevention.
