Background
Organized from 2010 by the prefecture's road safety office, these meetings are open to all road users in the mountains. In July-August 2025, 82 accidents were recorded in Savoie, resulting in 9 deaths and approximately 100 injuries, nearly one in two of which were hospitalized. Approximately 60 % of serious victims (killed or injured in hospital) were users of two-wheel motorized vehicles or bicycles, a trend that has been stable for the past five years.
Why it's important
The Savoie pass roads are very popular in summer, shared between bikers, cyclists and motorists. Controlling the safety path, wearing protective equipment and mutual respect directly reduces the risk of serious accidents. Free trials of airbag vests and advice offer a concrete and cost-free benefit.
