Who this guide is for

Section actions
  • You if you are in ALD and the doctor gives a prescription to several treatments
  • You if you want to understand why the prescription is divided
  • You if you work in pharmacy/with a doctor and want to formalize the bizone

To be prepared in advance

Section actions
  • ALD status (notification CPAM)
  • List of all current drugs/cares
  • A doctor informed of your ALD status

Step-by-step procedure

Section actions
  1. 1Report your ALD status to the doctor at the time of consultation. The physician knows which care is related to the disease (100 %) and which are not.
  2. 2The doctor issues a bizone prescription: upper part — ALD care and medicines (reimbursement 100), lower part — non-ALD care (standard reimbursement 70 %, remains mutual).
  3. 3In pharmacy or in a healthcare professional: present the complete prescription. The pharmacist distinguishes the care and applies the right rate automatically.
  4. 4Reimbursement: ALD care — 100 % CPAM (without remaining charge); other care — 70 % CPAM + mutual care. Third party paying when available.
  5. 5Update the order to maturity (often 12 months). The doctor will do it again if the ALD is renewed or the treatment changed.
  6. 6Examinations (laboratory, imaging) and care (kiné) also via the bizone prescription if a party is related to the ALD.
  7. 7Keep order and invoices — proof in case of CPAM check.
  8. 8In case of doubt about treatment related to ALD — discuss with doctor and CPAM. An erroneous inclusion may result in a refusal.

Common mistakes

Section actions
  • Believe all prescription is 100 % ALD. Only related care.
  • Do not use the bizone prescription — the pharmacist applies the standard rate.
  • Include non-related care in the upper zone — risk of refusal CPAM.
  • Do not renew the order due — no refund.
  • Losing the order — difficult to reconstruct history.

Important remark

The application of the bizone order depends on the ALD status. This information is indicative — for your case, check with the doctor and the CPAM.
