Step-by-step procedure

- 1See the Service-Public information sheet corresponding to your procedure. For naturalization by decree, the required level is B2 in oral and written form.
- 2First check your diplomas: certain French diplomas, professional certifications and diplomas attesting to a level of French at least B2 are accepted.
- 3Failing this, pass the TCF of France Éducation international or the TEF of the CCI Paris Île-de-France. The certificate must be less than two years old at the time of filing.
- 4Register at an authorized centre and check that the selected tests properly assess the required oral and written skills.
- 5In case of disability or health condition, ask for the necessary facilities. An exemption provided for in the texts requires a proper medical proof.
- 6Attach the valid diploma or certificate to the file and keep the original for administrative control.
